Emotional Agility

You are here: Home / Archive / Feature Stories / Emotional Agility
Published: September 18, 2016 by VPR Producer

When something happens that weighs on your mind and affects your relationships, your work or your life, how do you escape from the feeling? What can you do if you are working toward a goal but your emotions get in the way of achieving it? Or you can’t quite get out of a rut you’re in with your job or a relationship?

Our guest, Dr. Susan David, is a psychologist at Harvard University Medical Center, co-founder of Harvard-affiliated Institute of Coaching at McLean Hospital, and author of the Emotional Agility: Get unstuck, embrace change and thrive in work and life.

Dr. David goes on to discuss how to develop “emotional agility,” to deal with the thoughts, emotions and the stories we have in our lives. So we can attain the goals we set for ourselves and live a more fulfilling life.

Guest Information:

  • Dr. Susan David is the co-founder of the Harvard-affiliated Institute of Coaching at McLean Hospital, a psychologist on the faculty of Harvard University Medical School, and author of the book, Emotional Agility: Get unstuck, embrace change and thrive in work and life.
