Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 30, 2026

1. Who we are and the scope of this policy

Viewpoints Radio is part of American Urban Radio Networks, operated by A Wonder Media Company, LLC. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to that operator in connection with Viewpoints Radio. This policy describes personal information associated with using our website and how to contact us about that information.

This policy covers viewpointsradio.org, its website forms, newsletters, comments, and embedded website features. The affiliate portal at affiliates.publicaffairsprograms.com, other affiliated websites, and external podcast platforms may provide separate notices. Review the notice available on the service you use.

2. Information we receive

We receive your name, email address, phone number, reason for contacting us, and message when you use our contact form. Newsletter subscriptions collect a name and email address. Affiliate applications may also request station ownership, station call letters, and a requested start date. Story pitches, guest suggestions, and other correspondence can contain information about you or people you identify.

Website requests and interactions can generate an IP address, approximate location, browser and operating system details, device or browser identifiers, pages and referring links, visit times, and interactions with content. Cookies, local storage, pixels, server logs, and similar tools may support this collection. Providers may send us usage reports, email engagement information, and form delivery or spam detection results.

Required form fields identify information needed to handle that submission. You control the additional details you provide. Please keep sensitive information out of general inquiry forms and public comments. Story and guest suggestions should include only the personal information needed for the editorial team to consider the suggestion.

3. Purposes for processing information

We use submissions to answer listener questions, assess story and guest suggestions, manage affiliate applications and support, and deliver newsletters people request. Producers, affiliate representatives, and other relevant staff may review submissions to handle these requests.

We also use information to operate and improve the website, understand audience interests, measure content and campaign performance, moderate participation where available, troubleshoot problems, prevent spam or misuse, and meet legal obligations. We may create audience summaries, such as total visits or episode downloads. Summary reporting does not mean that all underlying information is anonymous. Technical information and provider collection are described below.

4. Website technology and outside media

Website tools may store preferences, support essential functions, measure usage, or enable media and advertising. We use Google Tag Manager to manage website tags that support measurement and other website functions. The information collected through these tags depends on the services used.

Where an episode includes a Simplecast player, the player connects to Simplecast to supply audio and related services. Simplecast describes collecting IP addresses, browser and device information, and approximate country information, and using these for delivery, measurement, security, and advertising services as applicable. We may receive reports about listening, downloads, and content performance. An external podcast app may collect additional information under its own policy.

Pages may include videos, social posts, and other third party features. Loading a feature can send information to its provider before you press play or otherwise interact. Providers may use their own cookies and may connect activity to an account you hold with them. Forms may also use Google reCAPTCHA for abuse prevention. External websites and platforms apply their own notices and account settings.

Google explains its practices at policies.google.com/privacy. Simplecast explains its practices at www.simplecast.com/privacy.

5. Newsletters and email preferences

Mailchimp helps manage our newsletter subscriptions and delivery. Subscription information is processed to maintain the mailing list and deliver email. Mailchimp and related email tools may record delivery, opens, and link clicks, depending on the settings enabled. Sending a contact message, suggesting a guest, or applying to become an affiliate does not by itself subscribe you to unrelated marketing.

Use the unsubscribe option in a marketing email to stop that subscription, or contact us for help. A marketing opt out does not prevent a response to your inquiry or another necessary service message. For Mailchimp information, see Intuit’s Global Privacy Statement at www.intuit.com/privacy/statement/.

6. Submissions and public participation

When you post a comment, its content and your chosen display name may appear publicly. Other readers can copy or redistribute that material. An email address supplied privately with a comment is used for administration rather than intended for display. Comment information and technical details may be processed by spam filtering and avatar services, including Akismet or Gravatar where used. Contact us about removal of your own comment; applicable law, moderation needs, and copies held by others may limit removal.

7. Who may receive information

Information may be made available to providers that host and secure the website, deliver media or email, process forms, filter spam, measure performance, or support advertising where used. Relevant affiliated companies may receive information to handle your request. We may also disclose information at your direction.

A provider may receive technical information directly from your browser when its technology loads on a page. That information may differ from the audience totals or other summary reports received by us or an advertiser.

Disclosures may be required by law or needed to address misuse, claims, or safety risks. A reorganization, acquisition, or asset transfer may involve information subject to applicable protections. Providers may act on our behalf or process information for their own purposes under their privacy policies.

8. Your controls and privacy requests

Browser settings can help you delete or restrict cookies and website storage. Provider account settings may offer additional choices for embedded media or advertising. Some features can stop working when technologies are restricted. These settings may not prevent all information collection and do not replace any website consent or opt out tools required by law.

Your location and the laws that apply determine your rights. These may include requesting access, a copy, correction, or deletion; objecting to or limiting certain processing; withdrawing consent; or opting out of a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising where applicable. You may also have a right to appeal a response or complain to a regulator.

Send requests, including appeals where available, to [email protected] and identify the website involved. We may request information reasonably needed to locate your records and verify requests that require verification. We do not require identity verification for opt out requests where the law prohibits it. Authorized agents may act when permitted by applicable law. Exceptions may affect a request, and we will not penalize you unlawfully for exercising your rights.

9. Keeping and protecting information

We determine how long to keep information according to the purpose of collection, the type of record, ongoing service or business needs, security requirements, and applicable legal or recordkeeping obligations. Retention can differ for a newsletter subscription, an inquiry, a public comment, and technical logs. Information may need to be kept to resolve a dispute or meet a legal obligation.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information. Internet transmission and storage involve risks, so we cannot promise that information will always remain secure.

10. Children

This website serves a general audience and is not designed for children younger than 13. We do not knowingly seek or collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information, email [email protected] with the relevant website and details so we can investigate and address it.

11. International processing

Our operations are based in the United States. Information can be handled in the United States and in other countries used by our providers. Privacy protections in those locations may differ from the protections where you live.

12. Policy updates

We may revise this policy when our services, practices, or legal obligations change. The version posted on the website will show its effective date. We will provide any further notice or request any consent that applicable law requires.

13. Contact

For a privacy question or request concerning viewpointsradio.org, email [email protected]. Please identify Viewpoints Radio in your message and describe the information or request involved. You may also use the website contact form at viewpointsradio.org/contact/. Do not send identification documents or sensitive records unless we arrange an appropriate way to receive them.
